Can you translate editorial features into lively, conversational German, write compelling German headlines and marry them with attention-grabbing images to make people feel they can’t continue their day without looking at our content? If so, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative German Language Syndication Editor based in the UK to join our hugely successful, award-winning digital publishing company and help grow our audience in the DACH region. We produce engaging editorial across a variety of subjects including money, travel, food and drink, and property.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • The ability to write engaging, accurate headlines in German and marry them with eye-catching images across various subjects targeted at individual countries of the DACH region;
  • Fast, accurate translating with flair from English into German and the ability to localise content for the DACH market;
  • The ability to manage your workflow to meet a busy production schedule;
  • A keen interest in the subject matter areas we cover;
  • An excellent news instinct and understanding of current affairs and popular culture in the German-speaking world;
  • Knowledge of current media legislation, especially libel and copyright law;
  • A self-starting, motivated attitude;
  • The ability to work in a busy and challenging environment.

The role will require you to perform the following tasks:

  • Preparing and publishing photo gallery-style content, from headlines and main image through to metadata and keywords;
  • Translating and localising 2,000-word+ photo gallery-style content from English into German for online publication;
  • Managing editorial schedules to maximise performance in the DACH market;
  • Assisting with team planning and providing holiday cover for other members of the team.

The role will predominately be home-based although will occasionally require travel to London.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary dependent on experience plus a discretionary performance-based bonus scheme and excellent benefits including 30 days’ annual leave.
