There’s no doubt we all need something fabulous to look forward to right now – and a getaway to the heart of the Kent countryside is sure to provide a boost for both mind and body.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with Romney Marsh Shepherds Huts to offer a short break at one of two stunning shepherd's huts, set in a bucolic location in the south of the county.

Shepherd’s delight

Romney Marsh Shepherds Huts are located on a family farm on Kent’s Romney Marsh, a wetland area that's a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the perfect spot for enjoying stargazing and sunsets.

The two traditional shepherds' huts – Lookerer or Rumwold – are equipped with a double bed, kitchen including hob and outdoor fire pit, toilet and shower room and toiletries from the family's sister company Romney Marsh Wools.

On arrival, guests can also opt to have their hut stocked with locally-sourced products for breakfast.

And with no TV and limited Wi-Fi they’re also the perfect place to get back to nature and enjoy some screen-free time.

The prize

What to see and do

While this quiet corner of Kent is certainly idyllic, visitors here won't be short of things to do.

Kristina and Paul Boulden who own the huts, have worked to build relationships with local business owners offering a range of adventurous activities or even the chance to learn a new skill. Guests can pick from a Marsh jeep safari, bike hire, virtual and in-person vineyard tours, photography classes and craft sessions with a local textile designer (not included in the prize).

And for those guests visiting in spring, there is the opportunity to help bottle feed lambs on the farm, subject to availability.

Plus there are plenty of walking opportunities on the nearby Kent Downs and High Weald.
