Somewhat reminiscent of a Cinderella castle, this dreamy cathedral is one of America's most famous places of worship. Finished in 1727 and brought to life by French engineer Adrien De Pauger, the original cathedral sadly burned to the ground less than 60 years later. Its replacement took shape in 1794, and has been standing at the heart of New Orleans ever since.
