The start of 2025 saw an announcement that the UK’s largest ever dinosaur trackway had been uncovered at the Dewars Farm Quarry in Oxfordshire. Made up of more than 200 huge footprints, it was first spotted by a worker operating a digger the year before.

The prehistoric superhighway dates from 166 million years ago. Excavations suggest that it had been used primarily by long-necked sauropods called Cetiosaurus and smaller meat-eating theropods known as Megalosaurus.
