Usually a regular vacation spot of the rich and famous (and their superyachts), Portofino has turned from a traditional fishermen's village to a super-fashionable spot on the Italian Riviera. Dripping in old Italian glamor, the candy-colored houses along the harbor have been turned into boutique hotels while the cobbled main square, the Piazzetta, is dotted with cafés and restaurants.

Backed by steep, verdant hills, Portofino is surrounded by many picturesque walking trails, winding their way along the Ligurian coast.
