Following a three-month restoration in 2024, a new queuing system has been introduced, which limits the number of visitors to 400 at any one time between 9am and 10pm. Starting from 1 February 2026, visitors must book online to visit and pay two euros (£1.75/$2.34) to enter, with a 30-minute slot allocated to visit the fountain.

Yet the experience remains far removed from its romantic reputation, with surrounding shops and cafés catering to tourists rather than offering authentic Roman fare.
