On a balmy night in July, England’s women's football team, the Lionesses, gave the nation heart palpitations when they beat Spain on penalties to win the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 final in Basel, Switzerland.

In doing so they retained the title they won in 2022 and became, arguably, the nation’s most successful football team. Here we see them soaking up the adulation of adoring fans during an open-top bus parade down the Mall, just two days later.
