Designed by the late, great Zaha Hadid, whose other works include the One Thousand Museum in Miami and the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, Naples Afragola is everything modern architecture should be. A rippling river of whitewashed curves, the building was envisaged as an "urbanized public bridge" connecting the two sides of the track. Shops and facilities line the upper level, while sunshine streams in via a long, continuous skylight.
