Louisiana holds the title of the most dangerous state in America, and its rankings across almost all categories in WalletHub's analysis make for pretty grim reading. The state ranks 49th in both financial safety and emergency preparedness, ties for the highest rate of assaults per capita, and comes in at 40th for both personal and workplace safety.

Even with a slightly less dire 33rd-place ranking in road safety, Louisiana’s overall performance signals an urgent need for action to address its deep-seated safety challenges.
