The stunning Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru is our choice for the most beautiful greenhouse on the planet. It was commissioned in 1760 by Hyder Ali, ruler of Mysore (1761–1782), who was known for creating many elaborate gardens during his rule. Later, the glasshouse was added by Prince Albert Victor in 1889, modelled on the lavish glass-and-steel Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London.

It’s an especially wonderful sight during the bi-annual flower show, when it radiates a golden glow at night.
