York has one of the most complete sets of medieval walls in the world. The walls provide an elevated walk around the entire city and retain all of their main gateways into and out of the city. It is a stunning way to see the place.

The Minster is also one of the largest cathedrals in northern Europe. The National Railway Museum is also based in York.
