Since 2015, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have gathered every two years in the forecourt of Sydney Opera House for the ultimate dance extravaganza. The event showcases diverse First Nations cultures through dance, skin art and musical instruments, as well as other traditional practices. Each group's performances consist of welcome and farewell dances, as well as a ‘Wildcard’ dance.

Its iconic location is significant in more ways than one – Australia’s most famous building sits on Bennelong Point, a former island that has been an Aboriginal ritual meeting place for thousands of years.
